The face is familiar. The name? Absolutely gone.
You ever run into someone, and you both clearly recognize each other… but neither of you can remember from where?
Them: "Hey… you!"
Me: "Hey… you!"
Them: "Wow, it’s been a while!"
Me: "Yeah, totally! Crazy seeing you… here!"
Now we’re both trapped in a mutual guessing game, nodding and pretending we definitely remember. Do I ask? Do I fake my way through this entire conversation? At what point is it too late to admit I have no clue who they are?
Anyway, if you’re reading this and we’ve met before… just know I absolutely, 100% remember you.

I can totally relate to that. I recognize people and I'm actually very good with names but it happens I forget especially when it was just one prior meeting. I guess you can pretend to remember or when asked nicely and in the right way you could ask. I used to work at a restaurant and I live in a smaller town so it would happen that people come up to me asking if we met before and under what circumstances we might have met. I mostly said it's probably because of my workplace because I do recognize them too but sometimes can't remember exactly where I've seen them. But to me it's okay to simply ask.

Nastaran, I simply am honest, and will find out where that leads. Easy peasy.

Lucy Addams I’m good with people’s pets’ names, though. That’s how I lead -- 'How’s Mr. Wiskerson doing?' lol.
