Introduce Yourself : Screenwriter by Jack Sacks

Jack Sacks

Screenwriter

Hello Stage 32ers,

Been finishing my first feature comedy, now 18 months in, so far received 3 quarterfinal awards from script competitions and positive feedback from execs at WME, WB, and one major producer. Keep hearing, "fun read but not sure where this fits in" . Joined Stage 32 today hoping to learn some new things, meet some new people, and get the script into amazing form and then optioned or into production. Cheers.

Welcome to Stage 32, Jack Sacks, and huge congrats on the momentum your feature is already building. That note of “fun read but not sure where this fits” is actually something we hear a lot in development—it often just means you haven’t landed in front of the right champion yet, or it needs a slight nudge to align with a particular market need.

You’re in the perfect place to level things up. I highly recommend getting involved in the Screenwriting and Producing Lounges, there’s a wealth of experience here, and asking questions or sharing insights can lead to some great conversations and even opportunities. You should also check out the Stage 32 Writer’s Room, here’s a link for your first month free: https://www.stage32.com/writers-room/plans-vip. It’s a great way to get professional feedback, sharpen your script, and connect with other writers and execs who can help guide your next steps.

And of course, don’t hesitate to reach out to our Success Team at Success@Stage32.com. Let them know more about your script and goals. They can help you find the best path forward. Looking forward to hearing more about your journey!

I have been working for ages on a really good comedy screenplay but couldn't get it off the ground. Even with the backing of an investment company and former mini-major.
