BMPCC 6K - 1st Gen.

I recently shot a short film in Blackmagic RAW at 2.4:1 with a set of spherical Sigma Cine Art lenses and am thrilled with the output. My gaffer and I provided the foundation, and our colorist brought it home. We had three locations. Two interior locals, one being a warm, gritty bar and the other being a cool, sterile office. The third was an exterior on a sunny, cloudless day (intentionally shot at noonish). The S35 sensor paired with the lenses was a great low-cost, fast-moving alternative to my Epic Dragon or an Arri Mini. Has anyone else had good luck with the BMPCC 6K?

That sounds like a fantastic shoot, Michael Fitzer! I’ve had the chance to play with the Sigma Cine lenses myself and see some stunning test footage from their Sigma Cine space in LA. They really are impressive. They strike such a great balance between character and clarity, especially for that kind of fast-paced production. The pairing with the BMPCC 6K is a smart move too, especially for dynamic environments like you described. Love hearing how your whole team contributed to the final look, sounds like a great collaboration! Would love to see some stills or a trailer if/when you’re sharing!
