Can't say I'm surprised. Seemed like the most likely outcome and the whispers were out there for a while.
What do you think about the move? Are you now more likely or less likely to attend?

I can see why Sundance is being moved to Boulder, Richard "RB" Botto. The article says, "In selecting Boulder, the festival’s leadership cited the fact that it is a college town as well as a tech hub. It also highlighted the community’s natural beauty, something that has been a key component of Sundance, which has always boasted itself as an opportunity to watch great movies against an alpine backdrop." Look at the picture in the article! I've wanted to go to Sundance, and I'm more likely now.

Another major studio leaving a sinking ship and the perfect move for sure.

The real question is why Sundance was in Utah in the first place...

Mountain town not far from skiing with more space than Park City, Nick Eff (Mandlamadi). Park City on steroids. Seemed like the most logical choice of the 3 finalists. Now if it will keep the intimacy and the charm, that's to be seen.

Many of the reasons why for Boulder, Maurice Vaughan, are many of the reasons why not for Park City.

Honestly, seems like a perfect fit. The vibe was already very Colorado! Curious to see how (if at all) this changes the festival!

The location won't change the business and perception headwinds, Aaron Mirtes. But they've admitted as much.

I'm hoping to get my short film into Sundance when Post is completed -- I've never been there to the festival yet. As a kid who was raised in Hawaii, the snow is something that will take getting used to, but to me, either place has beautiful scenery and a great vibe I'm looking forward to.

That would be a fantastic reason to brave the cold, William Joseph Hill. Pulling for it to happen for you.

I have yet to attend so if it's still the same festival, it'll be great in Colorado too whenever I do get the chance to go. :)
