RIP to Val Kilmer. This was one of my favorite movies back in the early 90’s. I watched it over and over again, along with listening to the soundtrack on cassette.
Hey Nick, this is Leonardo from the Stage 32 team. I just wanted to let you know I moved your post from Your Stage to Acting, as it fits much better there. It's a great post that can get other actors thinking about the late Kilmer's acting choices. Let me know if you have any questions, and all the best to you!
You're very welcome Nick Eff (Mandlamadi). I'm saddened by the loss. Not too long ago, we watched a documentary on his acting journey on Prime. It was really good. He really put his all into the characters he played.
This movie came out the summer I graduated high school. I was an athlete and pretty straight laced as far as certain "activities, but that summer I began to experiment, including certain "psychedelics" so this movie hit different, so to speak. My friends wanted to be Jim, but me, I wanted to be Val. On that note, if you haven't already, do yourself a favor and watch Val on Prime.

Nick Eff (Mandlamadi), I’m thinking about rewatching The Doors tonight in his honor. It’s been YEARS since I last watched it.

Kilmer always stand out for the way he embodies a character. The way his Jim Morrison moved, you could just see the poet in him.
