Hello, Stage32 family!
I've been lurking here for a year and figure it's time to say hi. I’m Diane, a newly-minted script reader/screenplay analyst. I’ve just completed the Hollywood Gatekeepers’ Screenreader course on how to analyze screenplays and write coverage reports.
I’ve been hanging out in the Stage32 Coverage Report for the past year helping writers with loglines, synopses and scripts. I really enjoy working with writers, helping them get their scripts polished up and ready for submission or whatever comes next.
I'm an avid reader and have always been a pretty kickass writer/editor/proofreader, so combining those skills with script reading feels like a natural progression – and a lot more fun! (Although that one weekend I was the ring toss girl at a carnival was pretty fun...)
My profile will tell you some other fun facts, but for now, just finally introducing myself here and excited to see what comes next!

Diane Fluin thanks for coming out of the shadows and introducing yourself! And for the work you do helping other writers. I once looked at the Hollywood Gatekeepers' Screenreader course. I'd love to know how you liked it and if you would recommend it. Thanks.

Tucker Teague I'd definitely recommend it to someone like me, with no prior knowledge of the film industry or screenwriting. The class intrigued me with "If you love movies and love to read, become a reader." Any aspiring readers would get a lot out of it, and even seasoned screenwriters might, too, depending on their background, knowledge base and experience. It's a pretty thorough course!

@Ray Fine (sorry, can't seem to tag you) You are absolutely right about Carolyn, she's a gem! So excited to share her immense knowledge and encourage everyone along their path.
And no, I have not written a screenplay. Yet. Never even considered it until I started seeing the amazing Stage32 member scripts. Not ruling out, but focusing on coverage efforts first.

Welcome out of hiding, Diane Fluin we’re so glad you’re here! I’m Ashley Smith, the Head of Community here at Stage 32, and I love that you’ve been actively supporting writers behind the scenes. Your background as a reader, editor, and logline whisperer is such an asset to this community.
Now that you’re stepping out of the shadows, you should definitely join the conversations in the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting). I have no doubt your insight and encouragement will be so appreciated there. And if you ever want to explore what’s next on the journey, the Writer’s Room could be a great fit too. You can get your first month free here: https://www.stage32.com/writers-room/plans-vip
Excited to see your voice and experience show up even more! Thanks for all the support you’ve already given!
