If any filmmakers have horse focused films or films that include horses, the Tryon International Film Festival in Tryon North Carolina is encouraging more equine filmmakers to enter their 11th year event. Their prices are very reasonable and under $50, starting as low as $35.
STEPS TO ENTER YOUR EQUINE FILM:
• Go to https://www.tryoninternationalfilmfestival.org/ and click on the SUBMIT button.
• On the right (copied below) are the deadlines with category drop down menus showing the fees and allowing you to enter your film.
• You will enter the TRIFF appropriate category from the list below. There will also be an area called “Cover Letter” where you will share more information about your film and include a sentence like this: “My film is an Equestrian Film, please also include it in the Equestrian Film category.”
• Prices range from $35 to $50 and the sooner you enter, the lower the entry fee.
Even if you don’t have an equestrian film you can enter, please take the time to update us on what you are up to, including if you feel you might have any equestrian films in the future. Also, if you know filmmakers who have done or might produce an equestrian film can you let them know about this opportunity and also provide us with their information so we can add them to our equine filmmaker database.
Anyone coming to the Film Festival who will be there to represent the film will also have the opportunity to do a short 5-minute Q&A after their film is shown. TRIFF also will have a special Filmmakers & Ticket Holders Meet & Greet on Saturday night, October 11, from 5:00-6:00, at the Equestrian Venue, which is where all the equestrian films are being shown. This gathering will include every filmmaker not just those with an equestrian theme.

Anyone chosen to have their equestrian film shown also has their interview featured on the EQUUS Television Network, which means you will get two chances for more people to meet you virtually. Then if you attend in person, that’s one more networking opportunity.

· July 1, 2025 is the late deadline
· August 1, 2025 is when you would be notified if your film made it into the film festival
