The docudrama is a fast-paced and hard-hitting exploration of the economic and racial tensions that exploded along the Gulf of Mexico among working class fishing communities following the influx of Vietnamese refugees in the late 1970’s and early 80’s. It is rooted in actual events and conditions on the Gulf of Mexico, including the blockade of commercial fishing lanes, the burning of refugee boats, and organized harassment by the Ku Klux Klan.
