Distribution : I made a TV pilot and I've made airplay. by Stewart Brodian

I made a TV pilot and I've made airplay.

I've bought some time on some network affiliates and have made airplay on some stations. The same time usually reserved for late night infomercials. I'm trying to build up a good resume for when my show is shopped to the networks. It has a good script, good dialogue and no swearing or depictions of anything offensive (sexuality, violence, ethnic slures, etc.,..) I understand that some people in he industry feel that there is a need to "push the envelope" to make it more interesting but, working as someone in the broadcast industry (I'm a part time radio announcer) I can get a good idea as to what is acceptable and what is not. I had beginner's luck when I won an award at the first film fest I sent the pilot to. But, after a while, for whatever reasons, it wasn't being accepted to any film fests. It costs money to submit it and if I'm going to spend money on it, why not spend it on results? I'm hoping to start a trend with independent TV shows. (Working as someone in the broadcast industry (I'm a part time radio announcer) I can get a good idea as to that is acceptable and what is not. People are tired of the infomercials and the program directors love the added ratings.
