Introduce Yourself : Writer & Journalist who loves movies by Joshunda Sanders

Hi, everyone: I'm an Austin-based writer and journalist. I was a newspaper reporter like one of my favorites, David Simon, for a decade before I left to work on a couple of book projects, including a coming of age memoir about growing up without parents in my hometown of the Bronx and an ebook based on my blog, Single & Happy, which got Freshly Pressed last week. For reasons I'll get into in the memoir, I spent a lot of time watching movies as a kid and they helped me escape some pretty tough circumstances. So it's my dream to one day work as a screenwriter to give back to the film community the beauty that inspired me to find my own voice. I've also been an amateur actress and performer in the past, including some a cappella groups in high school, so even when I get exasperated by creatives as a writer and consultant, I understand their pain.
