Screenwriting and Social Media

Has anyone had success optioning a screenplay through social media? I am just curious...

Philip Sedgwick

No options or sales yet, but scripts in with development folks (very reputable companies) met on Linked In. Also work for hire from Linked In and IMDBpro, though the latter not exactly social media. On here, too early to tell.

Lauran Childs

Hey that's interesting, I didn't know Linked In was good for screenwriting, I'll have a look Good for you!

Philip Sedgwick

You have to work it... find the professional groups. At first it was time consuming, but the result has been some great meetings, connections and more.

Good stuff. I was just curious...

I may be late to the party -- BUT -- odds are good any interest you get via social media on a screenplay/project will prove to be interest you don't really want. It might be an age thing but I think the best way to sell a property is knock on real doors until your real knuckles bleed. Again, just one man's opinion.

Gianna Isabella

I have not attempted to yet-but I have seen it work for some people. If you can get 100K followers on Twitter...people will pay attention.
