Introduce Yourself : Hello from Bmore! by Tammy Crisp

Hello from Bmore!

Hi, friends. I just discovered Stage 32 and am thrilled to find all of the fantastic resources, in terms of information and networking possibilities. I am afraid I am not exactly in the same position as most of you as I am not a full-time artist. By day, I manage a program that provides arts experiences to Baltimore City School students and work with City Schools teachers to educate them in how to integrate the arts across the curriculum. However, acting is my passion and I spend nights and weekends onstage and luckily have a good deal of vacation time to take off work when booked for shoots! I look forward to learning more about life in the industry from your discussions and posts.

As long as you have a love for the art it doesn't matter if you're full time or part time. You're one of us.

Thank you, Michael, for your kind words. :o)

How long have you been in the arts? Is it a lifelong passion or something that snuck up on you?

Tammy Crisp

I've been acting for about 20 years now. I discovered my passion for it in college and eventually changed my major to theatre. I did the acting thing here in Bmore for a while on a full-time basis (stage) and scraped by- and loved every minute of it- but finally decided to bite the bullet and get a full-time job to pay the bills. With health insurance :o) I did find my way into the classroom and taught theatre and then eventually I found my way back to grad school and got my MA in Arts Administration. As you can imagine, there is a lot I have left out...haha. And you? Lifelong passion?
