Producing : Why do my dream jobs all seem to be Unpaid Internships? by Thomas R. Waters

I am an actor that has written a screenplay and produced a little theater and one documentary. I am trying to find a job in production or development. Preferably the later but I love the idea of getting the whole thing done. Unfortunately, it seems no one wants to actually pay someone to do a job and learn something along the way. Instead they offer dozens of unpaid internships. I have health insurance to pay, and rent to pay, I need to put gas in my car and I occasionally need to eat. Anybody have any suggestions?
