I work in local TV here in Utah, and I've been writing on the side for a while now. I've written many screenplays, with around a half-dozen that I'd consider polished and ready to show off. I like unusual stories, especially stories about little known historical events and people. I also like mashing up comedy and drama in unexpected ways. I'm actually putting screenwriting on the backburner for a while to work on my first novel, but I have a screenplay in progress that I'll eventually get back to. I have so many interesting story ideas and I can't wait to explore them.

Cool! What sort of little known historical events/people have you uncovered? Sounds interesting!
I wrote a screenplay that was a fictionalized account of an actual Jewish farming colony that existed in Utah for a few years in the early 1900s. One idea I've been kicking around for a while is a comedy based on a bunch of colleges that existed in the late 60s that catered to rich kids who either couldn't get accepted to or flunked out of Ivy League schools. I read a lot and little oddities like that catch my eye.
