I was just trying to post "Is anyone else getting spam emails from what appear to be phantom Stage32 members ?" YES, I have started getting email requests from people asking me to reply to their emails direct to connect with them or even on Stage32 (copied below). Obviously, I don't answer but I have begun to question the security of my email address on Stage32. MESSAGES LIKE THIS ...... Jelin Jeeeeb posted on your wall. Jelin Jeeeeb - 10:45am Sep 25 Hello My name is miss Jelin, i am looking for a new friend i saw your profile today and became interested in you,i will also like to know you the more,and i want you to send a mail to my email address so i can give you my picture for you to know whom l am. And I sent a message to Stage32 asking for confirmation about the apparent hijacking of the website to get emails and ask if there are any security checks in place....but got no reply.

Not here but all the time on other sites. Mostly it is a scammer from Africa... Tends to be Senagal or Ghana mostly.

Infiltration agents from Bollywood? Hacks from Uranus? TCP/IP targeted for fun and profit? NO, it's Kim Jong Un wanting to take over Stage32 to get his Cheonan sinking movie made. Beware of invitations to North Korea Film Festivals.

I got one too...it went to a totally different page other than Stage 32....but was like a foreign person withpoor english wanting to date me....werid

I just got one saying we had something in common that he liked my profile and for me to respond to his private e-mail and when I went to check him out on here his profile was there? his name is Jelin Jeeeeb is he the same one?

I got one too, some dodgy scumbag probably trying to get my credit card details!!!

This is an old scam. Usually it's a guy who says he represents a foreign leader or millionaire and promises you money for you to help him get to the states or some crap. They fish for your info and steal you identity. I've turned a few of those over to the FBI in the past.

Hey again everyone. Just wanted to let you know that we took care of deleting the "Jelin Jeeeb" account earlier this morning when we became aware of the spam. Sorry again for the inconvenience.

Hope those ghanians or whatever they are don't cotton on to the crowd funding and screenplay contest writing scams or we'll all be jiggered. I did spot-from the prose- that they must have been to one of these writing seminars to be able to write that badly.So that narrows it down quite a bit.

Oh ya I have gotten a couple of those ones. The first message usually says they want to love me long time, or I'm rich I just need to send them a processing fee. Sometimes I just wanna reach through the wires and scream in their ear, "REALLY????!!!" :) Thanks to Derrick, Rob, Curt for finding and deleting them

We had our account jacked with and i let them know, but, Derrick and Richard were very very slow and did not believe us at first, then when we showed proof, the story changed, we actually had someone talking with a person here and really letting them have it, both the person here and i found out through another stage32 family our account was being used. For the most part, its been good, but sad to see when you report it, and it took at lot to have them do anything about it, and i am just being honest here, what was said could have had serious problems for our daughter, thank you

BEWARE...Thanks for sharing, although I have not received one yet. They are trying to scam people out of their money with the "business proposition". They will offer to send money to YOU if you provide them with bank account, or may send you a fake cashier's check for X amount and ask you to return a portion of the amount they sent you. After you send them real money, you find out that the check is fake.

Get about one a month. I just block the user and ignore.

Search Jelin Jeeeb and you discover he (or she) is a busy littler beaver... and with various and nefarious propositions covering a whole range of scams and shams. Individual or a group of people with an agenda to do harm? This is a manifestation of a devil in a frightened mind.

Just to reiterate Derrick's message, we deleted the Jelin Jeeb account immediately upon getting word of the spamming. We have a zero tolerance for spam. Much appreciation to those who gave us the heads up.

Yup - me too. I generally reply that this is not a dating site and then block them. Have had a string of 'you've inherited a zillion dollars' ones as well. As if.

To bad money really doesn't come with those emails. lol I've won the lottery more times than I can count, and I've had a dead relative, from part unknown, leave me money. lol

Yes it's amazing how often we win the lottery without actually buying a ticket..

And sadly, there is still only five cents in my pocket. lol

Yes "Master" of Stage 32 Universe. Go back and look at ANY comment I have ever made and see if I use and swear words: you will find none. The fact that you are one of the "Masters" of Stage 32 allows you to act as "Judge and Jury" of the site. "That Type of Language", should include pictures and art, don't you agree? Why don't you show us the tattoo of the American flag on your chest so we can talk about "Offensive?"

Hey John. Couple of things. One, we're all for free speech, but please do remember that there are child actors on this site. So, certainly asking for a little decorum shouldn't be the end of the world. Two, this site is free. Our hope is that people find work. I know you've had some success around these parts with casting. You haven't had to pay a dime for that. So, to launch a sarcastic tirade at Derrick is unnecessary. We're doing out best to provide a productive and positive forum. And when we get complaints from other members, we're going to act on them. All we ask back is a little respect. Thanks.

I, myself, thank you and Derrick for creating Stage 32, so that each of us can connect with others and have our dreams realized. I agree with what you've said. Also, you and Derrick have both done a lot of work, to help each of us (through emails, tips and advice)and have asked for nothing, but respect, while interacting on Stage 32. Banned again. Same person signing up from different IP's. We ban the IP each time. Eventually, they will give up. I appreciate all of you who have helped police this. Obviously, and again, we have a zero tolerance for spam.

Just ignore the messages, everyone. Community sites like this are going to get scammers and bots. It's a friggin annoyance, I know, but RB and Derrick are doing what they can to battle them for us. Hey RB, I'm not sure if you guys have the capability to mass message everyone, but sending one to all active members about these idiot scammers may help to keep people from freaking out and posting about the spam when they get them. Or possibly posting an announcement or something about how you guys are aware of it and that you're doing what you can to control it. it's got to be pain in the butt to have to hear about it every time it happens. it's just a bot and we should ignore those kinds of messages... By the way, I'm looking for a new friend and was wondering if you could send me your email address, phone number, SSN, name of your firstborn and bank info. Thanks... LOL (oh, yeah, Love matters in life... or something like that)

Thanks for the Post, J. I like the idea, but we don't want to drive everyone crazy as well. Bottom line, we're a very small crew and we depend on our users to alert us to suspicious behavior. We can't catch everything on our own - for example, neither Derrick or I had received the Jele DM before being alerted - but we react quickly when we learn of these violations. Having said that, we are currently developing even more spam protection which should catch some more of the spam as it happens. The great news? In 13 months, and with over 75,000 members, we've had to delete less than a dozen accounts for spam. Not too terrible. Again, I thank everyone for staying positive and for being kind enough to alert Derrick and I when these issues arise. RB

dunno....maybe it was the nude picture of Homer Simpson with the explanation that I would enjoy a threesome with them and a Brhama bull.....but I never heard back from them again....hmm?....think I came across too strongly?....think I looked desperate?....on a srious note. I agree, Richard and Derrick, you do a wonderful job. I am very pleased with Stage 32 and brag about it often. Just last night, as a matter of fact. I have a lot of spam on my blog-and understand there will always be spammers. And with all our members, you all do a fantastic job of looking out for us.

I hate to say it, but you may have to start requiring a photograph. it's not full proof but it might help.

Hey guys. We've seen a few of these scammers over the weekend. Think they tried to pick a time where they thought we wouldn't be paying as much attention to launch their campaigns. They have all been banned. We worked all weekend on putting new spam filters in place. Should be live later today. Will significantly cut down on this type of behavior. The same person has been on other sites. I had received emails from the same person on another site I was using. It seems they go after these kinds of sites, and it always happens to be after females. Hopefully they will just eventually give it up.

Tons. In Facebook, we get the "hi" direct messages from some creepy guy -- and even marriage proposals. Oh yea. That's why there is a delete button.
