Hi, IS IT JUST ME ..... or is everyone a bit annoyed by the "ABLE-TO-PAY" getting people to work for free? I live in the UK and am very suprised at the lack of paid jobs being offered via the likes of StarNow's website. Adverts like "Major pop star seeks actors for new video for upcoming track....blah blah ......NO PAY"... I have seen the likes of ITV production company advertising roles with NO PAY or "EXPENSES ONLY". Don't get me wrong , I think using these for opportunities to get experience in the industry is valuable BUT is it ethical for a multi-million pound industry to be getting our services for nothing? Not even paying the governments National Minimum Wage? What are your thoughts?

"To Mean to Pay", may be just another way to say come play with me today. Old times it was "College Only Productions." Now with the advent of Media Internet Blitz You Tube American Idol Cheap Video Cameras the World wants some FAME and in on the Media Game!

My point was that there are media businesses that are now exploiting upcoming actors. YES, It is part of learning the craft to do freebies to get a hold on the film business and gain experience of working on set. One can understand a "College" or "Student" film to be unpaid.....but a major corporation???

Hi, I agree. Also in film music scoring it is a bad trend that has grown too much recently. I understand that all wages and prices in the creative field have gone down, but it is not fair to ask for a service for free, especially if you are a big production.
Well, these corporations could be shooting themselves in the foot in the long run.....if we are not paid for our services we would need to leave acting and take up other jobs .....no actors = no productions.
