Hello everyone. My name is Pennie Fay. I am a SAG-AFTRA Long Island Actress. My son Stephen was killed this past June 5, 2012 just 1 day shy of his 20th Birthday by a truck driver with a suspended license. We buried him on his 20th Birthday. He was on his way to summer session @ NCC. He was supposed to start Stoneybrook 2 weeks ago for the Pre-Med Bridge Program. We started a foundation "Stephen Joseph Fay Memorial Fund, INC. Its a 2 part non-profit. 1) Every year a wrestling candidate from Carle Place HS will be the recipient of an all expenses paid wrestling camp scholarship. 2) As we continue to grow...we will cover medical costs for those in need in Nassau County after any motor vehicle accident, motorcycle accident. Pedestrian struck accident...whether or not they do or don't have insurance...we will financially help them with the costs of hospitalizations, surgery, emotional and physical therapy, medicine, prosthesis, supportive care, etc... Insurance always has a cap and denies necessary treatment on a constant. We intend to help with that financially. We also fought for Stephen's Law: THIS JANUARY ASSEMBLY SESSION WILL RECEIVE "STEPHEN'S LAW!": Senator Jack martins, DA Maureen McCormick and DA Kathleen Rice finished writing "Stephen's Law", which represents: Any motor vehicle operator, of any vehicle who operates a vehicle with a suspended license/and or are unlicensed and are in an accident where they cause bodily injury or fatality, shall be charged with a felony, in lieu of a misdemeanor! We are fighting for this law...a pure common sense law. It will NOT be grandfathered in for our Stephen, but...it will help the many other Stephen's and their families in years to come. We are having an OPEN MIKE NIGHT @ Hunter's Pub in Carle Place on Saturday November 24, 2012 @ 7 PM until closing and are seeking for performers of all ARTS/ACTS, Musicians, Bands, Singers, Karaoke Singers, Rappers, Dancers, Actors, Theater performers, Monologues, Skits, Poetry, Reciting Writers, Comedians, Dancers, Circus Performers, Clowns, Mime and Any Artistic Genre available. Stephen was the Captain of his wrestling team and all county champion. He died on his way to summer session on June 5, 2012 for his Biology II class. He was in the bridge program for Pre-Med from NCC to Stoneybrook. He was graduating early and was supposed to start Stoneybrook 2 weeks ago. By us doing this...he will keep his wrestling alive as well as...he will be a Doctor! I am his voice. His Brother Andrew and I will keep his legacy alive. Please help us continue his Legacy and help other Stephen's and their families in years to come. Thank you! Pennie Fay Please see: http://www.facebook.com/events/488479581176597/?context=create
