I think if you have a buring desire to be creative, there's really no better business to express yourself. The business caters to so many facets of creativity, it's almost impossible for creative types to NOT find an outlet.
I feel a great sense of satisfaction entertaining people and creating a reaction or response to my performances. My goal is to please the audience by any means necessary.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing others entertained by what I do. Also acting allows me to do things that may normally be illegal/crazy/outrageous/dangerous its the only way I can get away with things that I wouldn't dare in everyday life!
Good question considering it is one of most brutal industries out there - one-upped only by the music business, or so I hear. So why would someone want to be in it? Ego, of course.
ego is a pretty big part of it. the love of positive feedback, applause, cheers and reviews. but more important than that should be the love of creating and performance.
Passion for me. It's all about emotions. I feel like I was born to create and evoke emotions. I love a challenge and as a writer getting your work made is one hell of a challenge. Why? Why not! Go100% or not at all.
Because it's a great chance to get creative with a team of people. By working as a group you can achieve things that might not be possible on your own. Show business is one form of art where it is all about team work and collaboration.
in this business I've realized that they ones who do well leave themselves vulnerable emotionally which is difficult but are smart enough to know the business side of it. Thick skin business and soft-hearted show wise.

I see that you've mentioned no downfalls and led with burning desires. Thanks for contributing Ashley!

I've done other occupations which didn't feel right to me, or I didn't "fit in," when I started this I absolutely loved it.

Artist don't ask why. We ask why not and then DO IT.

Cause there's no business like show business...
My parents never told me to have something to fall back on. I don't have a choice - I have no other skills.
