A little something about me

Maybe it is time to write a short introduction of myself. I have been here for some time, adding some people every now and then, reading the blogs and some of the things that comes up in the discussions, the ususal stuff I guess. Anyway, I am a father of two living in Sweden (and have been so since my birth, 42 years ago) and besides my 9-5 work I compose music for film (and other media) and work as a stunt performer (or stunt coordinator) as much as I can. Like most here (I guess) I have always been fascinated by film and started cutting up and re-editing my grandfathers 8mm films when I was around ten years old. It was mainly films from my fathers racing-days, so action was a part from the beginning. Among the things I got from my grandfather was a 8mm camera, a projector and the "cutting" equipment. All of which I still have at home, standing on a shelf. I guess my first real encounter with film, apart from cartoons, was Star Wars. I was too young to see it in the theatres in Sweden (it was from 11 years an up), but there where a review on radio(!) which I taped and listened to over and over again. The review started with the music and then the first scene. And I was so hooked by the music, and ever since I have been hooked on film scores in most forms. If the interest for computers hadn't taken over my life when I turned teenager, I might have pursued film making, but instead I got heavily involved in using computers for story telling (games and other visually compelling projects). I also took up martial arts due to my affection for action films. Fast forward to the turn of the century, and computers started to merge with both music making and film making, even on a level affordable for many. And I paved my way back into film, both from an interest in the technical sides of using computers for editing, making effects, and as a way to distribute moving images, but also making music. Added to this, my martial arts turned back to film (closing the circle) and I started doing stunt work. And here I am today, making music for films and working with stunts, sometimes on the same project. So bring it on! ;) Take care, enjoy life and stay safe! /Fredrik
