Yesterday I was at the AFDA Annual Film Festival which happened on the 23rd and 24th of November 2012. It showcases it's Undergrad and Postgrad student films to the public as their final examinations. The event was highly successful as lots of stories and films where showcased at this festival. All undergrad films are 12mins long and all the Post grad films are between 24 - 48mins long. Among the many films that where shown at this festival My film also Premièred titled: Amari which was a great success and attendance which resulted in it a 2nd screening which was also fully booked. I was really humbled and excited by the response at the festival the Q and As were also good. Many of the films that were present at this festival are KanyeKanye, Collection, Purgation, vergenoeg, Fire and Ash, Bright Eyes, Harbinger, Permanent Visitors, The wanderer, Tidelands, Blood of our enemies, Blood Relative, Feral, Wrap The Night Around Me, Jacob and the Dagga Stalk, Wolves at the door, Gun Fight with a Song and many more. The festival was indeed a success and there will be an Online Festival Showcasing all the films just follow this website: http://afdafestival.com/ My film is Titled AMARI and it focuses on themes of, Family, Love and Sacrifice. Thank you very much
Realized that getting out there is tough but nonetheless we need to present our selves as the very best at what we do therefor we need to apply ourselves to our crafts and grow as filmmakers, as artists as ourselves. I like Stage32's quote today it is VERY relevant! "I had pictured myself as a filmmaker but I had never pictured myself as a director if that makes any sense at all." — James Cameron
