The American Film scene is shrinking. We need to compete with China now. More and more production companies as moving and setting up shop over there. The greed of film is killing our market. Maybe the "Mega Studios" are looking to move but I think the nature of entertainment is evolving into something where size does not necessarily matter. Many great films are being produced by smaller enterprises. There are start up film companies everywhere in the US.
Its not the studios who look to move but the big independent production companies looking to bank in the expanding market with cheaper labour. The "Mega" Studios are focusing only on the big budget features. Making fewer jobs and less money to spread around. I want to see the studios focus on making jobs in LA by cutting the budgets on these major feature and throwing some money to create the backlot pictures (which is how the big production companies make there shit load of money). Cut the greed and make American Film succeed!!
