Who blogs? and why?

So, I do keep a blog. Since 2004 I've had a strong internet presence even if it was more a personal blog. Suffering with Anorexia and Bulimia was tough, I needed places to feel safe and I found the perfect site. After being there a short time, I was asked to moderate. And the site helped young people deal with their problems, I was also included in that. I met some amazing people along the way, who became fast and lifelong friends. I did lose some along the way after all Anorexia is one of the most fatal mental illnesses. I continued to blog even after that particular site had closed and last year I decided to move everything to a wordpress site. Having been in recovery for four years, I tend to blog more about my fish and my writing. But I do get visitors who are hurting and need a little bit of support. If you blog, do you keep your personal stuff and your writing separate? I always wondered if it would be more professional. But then again it wouldn't be me, and after hiding who I am for so long, I am not ashamed of my dark times, nor will I ever be, without people like myself talking about it, no one would ever know or understand why these disorders happen. What are your experiences through life that help your writing and make you who you are? And if you are interested or know someone who suffers with an ED don't let them suffer in silence. my blog is http://kanundra.wordpress.com/ Take care of you and others. Dawn
