I recently took a look at the movie "Shotgun Stories", a good example of a low budget movie done well. I was wondering if anyone on here know's how much production cost was on the movie? I would be interested in writing, maybe even directing a low budget movie and believe I could do just as good a job developing and writing a story as Jeff Nichols did with his movie. Also, if anyone out there is looking to produce or direct a low budget film I could write up a great script for you in no time. Just give me a shout and put me to work.

It actually ended up being a bit of a larger budget at $250,000 and lost money as it only ultimately took 46,000 domestically and 120,000 internationally. You could probably make something quality for around $50,000 if you get most of your crew to work for free. But if you're wanting to develop a script, then I say just do it! If the story is good and it's well written, people will want to make it happen and will try to find the funds.
