I just wanted to share with you all a project that helped me a lot when I first wanted to direct film. I wrote about it in detail in my new column on Script Magazine. It's speaking to writers, but it lays out a hands-on project for first-time directors from any background who want to try directing a complete scene on film from beginning to end. Check it out and let me know if it's something you will try. Good luck! http://www.scriptmag.com/features/write-direct-repeat-dare-to-make-a-scene
Great share, Kim...Thanks!

Great. The best way to become a film maker is to DO some film making. This is good to inspire some first timers to go do it.

Well said, Richard. I also think this is true as it relates to screenwriting. You can read all the books you want, but reading successful screenplays will offer the most insight.
