Hello everyone, I am a very goal oriented person, and with that said there were a list of cool creative things I wanted to accomplish since I was a kid. Writing books was always atop that list of goals. The first book I wrote was actually a children's book that a publisher showed great interest in. Soon after I found out that if one goes through a publishing company, the company essentially owns the book and can remove it from print etc. While it would be great to have a major publisher publish my thoughts, I haven't worked so hard to carve out my own creative freedom to allow someone to own my work. After researching and talking to other more established authors, I came to the decision to self publish, hopefully build a good name as an author and then I will have more control over my future book endeavors. The first book I wrote is a book of poetry. While I do not claim to be a "poet" I have always loved the brilliance and creative ways of writing poetry. I must say writing the book was the scariest thing I have ever done. Writing is a lonely place. It's all you, and if people like it or think it sucks it's just you standing there alone.
