Screenwriting : Stepping Forward... by Glenn D. Grace

Stepping Forward...

People will always have their opinions and advise; it's cool too, you take the best of everything, and leave the worst of nothing, always being open to enlightenment, for nothing is tragic as the closed mind. On this journey, I have discovered that people will pick apart what they see is a threat, but one thing they will never be able to do is duplicate or fabricate what is real and honest. With novels; people down the cover that is not flashy, but I say... Some of the most sincere and honest works of art are void of flash, yet rich in real ... Yes... R. B. you inspire me! ~GD

Love those words G.D. I came into the novel game green, as I transitioned from screenwriting. I didn't take the time to learn all of the intricate parts of the game from cover art to market analysis. I thought I was going to be exclusive to novels and a photographer looked at some of my shorts and told me, never give up on film because I will go back. I didn't think so but here I am. Every day is a learning experience and I myself am inspired by people like yourself and our man R.B. for starting this wonderful site. Keep moving forward and let your light continue to shine. Bless, Kev

This exactly why I made the jump to Stage 32, because only creatives dwell here. Thank you, Kev. Can't wait to see growth and encounter new experiences.... <GD

Man, that is the truth.

Yes, I am really enjoying all the feedback here (especially in the screenwriting section).

The thing is, you can only learn so much from "how to" books, the real learning - how to feel language, how to hear and replicate dialogue - comes from the experience of ourselves and those kind enough to pass it down to us. Whenever a writer asks me how to get the most out of their writing, I tell them to read Wuthering Heights, then go back and really examine the first dozen pages. That, my friends, is a masterclass.

Of course some great screenplays do a good job of helping people see and hear.
