Cost of a Punch Up?

Im an actor, who's been tired of reading shitty scripts, so I like many before me, and a few after me attempted writing a script. Now, I see that the basic idea of the story is there, however things, are missing. If I hire someone to "Punch It up" what is a reasonable price to pay for such a service? Please help. Thank you.

http://www.deadline.com/2009/09/why-he-will-not-read-your-fucking-script/ Thank you for this post....I have never tried to "be" a writer, however, I am seeking a writer to punch up a Fantasy Adventure Period piece if anyone is interested. Again, please, and thank you.

That depends, of course, on the writer. Writers who are so skilled at punching up a script that it makes it sellable are very expensive. They typically do not get screen credit so that means no residuals. That means they get paid up front a lot of money. I suggest you come up with a fee you can afford and put out a job notice. Then read and read and read until you find a writer who you feel will punch up your script. You may consider offering a screen credit in addition to a fee.

D Marcus, thank you for the input. I will create a job notice and see what comes in.

Really depends upon where that writer is on their career path.
