It sounds pretty cool. I've been following Stars Wars for 30 yrs, so I'm pretty familiar with the SW Universe, but I'm in Austin, TX, so I can't help. However, my recommendation would be to avoid using Skywalker angle and go in a different direction. I like the 'Tales of the Jedi' stories. I read all those comics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0G4emsHV8lE I hope that Disney will take Stars Wars in that direction. They have incredible stories to tell. Going back hundreds years before Vader and Yoda.

I don't want to stir the pot, but unless you have permission from Disney to do anything "Star Wars" related, it can be shut down really quickly.
that is one of my worries. I was thinking we have it just be a fan film. Or we make it a short film and try to sell it to Disney. But it has to be an all volunteer cast and crew for them not to sue.

When I was little, I always wanted to be a jedi. This may be my best chance to make that happen.
I doubt Disney will care about a fan made film unless you try to monetize it. It will simply give their future Star Wars movies publicity. You can upload it to you tube. I don't see this as infringing on their rights.

Art. It doesn't need to be an all volunteer cast/crew short film for them not to sue. You can hire people to work on anything. It doesn't matter. What does matter is you can in no way make money off this, sell it, or distribute it anywhere on a paid basis without clearance from Lucasfilm and/or Disney.

I need to find the crew and someone who can help me plan all the details. I need a director who will listen to my vision and I will listen to theirs. I want to have fun and make a awesome short film. So if you want to help I'm open to any help or suggestions.

Disney plans to release a Star Wars movie every summer starting in 2015 with the new Star Wars. That's a lot of Star Wars, but I'm guessing they will need good writers to come up with great stories. I think it's going to open a lot of opportunities. I hated George Lucas Prequels. I thought they sucked because Lucas got away from creating a good story and relied too much on the special effects and ridiculous characters. Something to think about. Besides that I plan to watch those Star Wars flicks. The last comic books I read were Star Wars comics.
