Having been an editor, director, and producer at various times, I must agree with Mel Brooks. Do not let the producer into your editing room until you are fully satisfied that you have the best cut possible. Most producers will try to convince you that they can imagine what isn't yet there. They are lying to you and themselves. Keep them out until you are absolutely ready, then show the producer your best. Otherwise, you could have a preventable disaster on your hands.

Great clip, but just try and keep Producers out of the edit suite. Remember who pays the bills and salaries.
