COMPUTERS will soon MEASURE SCRIPTS for DEVELOPMENT

A friend sent me this article in NEW YORK TIMES. Be interesting to hear your comments. Reading the responses below the article I don't see many loving the idea.

Summary: For only 20 grand per script a producer can have the contractor report back on marketability of any script - measured against SCIENTIFIC data collected on the industry.

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/06/business/media/solving-equation-of-a-h... So, supposin' it really caught on, what effect do you imagine it would have on the films being made?

May I kick off with:

William. GOLDMAN - Nobody (in the film industry) knows nothing! (Something like that?)

So, WHO suddenly DOES know something - and that is the data that YOUR optioned script will be compared against? The scientifically proven correct phrase CRAP IN = CRAP OUT comes to mind.

So maybe MY crap will find a home after all! Your turn...
