Introduce Yourself : Andy Davie by Andy Davie

Hi I'm a happily married screenwriter living on the outskirts of London. I grew up in a film industry family, but decided to rebel as teenager and go my own way, don't ask. Thankfully I've grown up a lot since then. I've always been creative in one form or another. I discovered my passion for writing in 1997 in the form of poetry as a way of releasing some deep emotional pain born from a personal tragedy... A friend of my mother read that poetry which led to me attending creative writing classes. The next thing I know I'd written three novels, two of which have been published. The third novel is due out next year with Media Aria CDM. I switched from writing novels to screenplays in 2000. Since then I've had several short films made, have one feature in post production, another in pre-production and several projects in development with Tirana Films International. My short film '15' starring Sara Dee and Frank Scantori, was directed by Martin Pavey and is currently showing in the Short Film Corner at Cannes. I'm constantly learning and love the buzz of being on set watching the words on the page being transformed into action on screen. It's awesome! I've met many wonderful creative people from both sides of the camera on this journey and intend to keep going for as long and as far as possible, meeting more people and getting more movies made along the way. If I can help anyone acheive their goals in some small way, I'm happy to do so any way I can. What else can I tell you? I've been married 21 years, have a wonderful 18 year old daughter and really need to get back to work on the current work in progress... there you go, that's me. Pleased to meet you. Cheers Andy
