Got an Honorable mention from "A FILM WRITER" Contest ? http://www.afilmwriter.com/contest-honorable-mentions.html Seeing as on February 25 this was a pretty vague idea for a short that was going to be just to do something, It is pretty amazing, for me anyway. A hundred ideas, dozens of half finished scripts, several shorts, and many articles, this represents the first feature length that I am satisfied with. Not too shabby for part time writing. First round of notes added several great moments. Second round, produced a third draft that really fixed some pacing issues. And, well, since several readers disliked the ending, I replaced it with the alternate that had already been written. I am sure some of you will agree, many competitions need to be taken with a grain of salt. After all, if you get the first place prize, you need to consider the competition. Quite easy to be the best of the garbage that they may have had submitted. But this agent has given us Oscar winning scripts, so I feel pretty good for what I submitted. Thank you to Terri Zinner and her amazing staff for a fantastic journey. An encouraging start and enlightening revelations. Now to sell or produce this beast! Have a great weekend. JD
