Using casting websites...

Hi Everyone! I was wondering if any of you have used any sites like Explore Talent or something similar to get work. If you have, would you recommend it? If not, what were some of the challenges that make you hesitant on recommending it? Thanks! Jery

I've heard a lot about Explore Talent being a scam. So I wouldn't waste your time on that site. But I've definitely had some luck on casting websites that do not need a membership or any payment.

Thanks Audrey! I appreciate the help

I used Explore Talent last year; had pretty good experience with it. Just be very specific with your listing, and make sure you note if you are paying or not. Peruse the site for a while before hand to become familiar with it. My partner and I had no issues and found the actors we needed within 2 weeks.

Sorry, we were putting up a casting call, for us it was free.

Hi Jery, From my experience on the casting side of the industry Actors Access is by far the most commonly used resource. Explore might be a good place to find some work, but I know many many casting directors and entire companies that use Breakdown Express exclusively (where jobs on Actors Access are created). Actors Access is worth paying membership for, and sites like Explore that have free membership are worth checking out, but avoid anything that requires a significant yearly (or MONTHLY) membership fee. Lots of places like Cast360, RealityWanted, Cazt, etc. ask for too much money when compared to the amount of work that talent will actually derive from the site. Best of luck in your work Jery!!!

Thanks Stuart! I appreciate it.

Casting Networks (LA Casting) also. Stay away from Explore Talent.

Oh! Thanks Joseph!
