We are looking for someone with some experience able to cope with restructuring a screenplay based on a book. For the right scottish candidate there may be a sequel.
You are aware of different jurisdictions having different tax concessions, there are also rules that exist to protect skill bases and cultural interests. This has been caused by the domination of US distribution and large budget features. At this moment the UK is in boom since the introduction of tax concessions for TV as well as film. Canada, Australia and most EU countries operate this system.
It is a Celtic animated feature based on a book. The book was picked up by Vast Entertainment in LA for ABC Disney, but was considered too dark (even might be demonic like Harry Potter). I have made a Kids superhero series for TV, which is going to CMC, Sheffield next week and MIPCOM in October. It forms part of a series of books in its own world. We intend to make two films, later possible live action from book 3+. We have screenplay formatted rough script with revisions. We offer editors from Pixar and Disney. It is a matter of converting a book to film story arc etc. http://www.stage32.com/profile/8319/project/mihtes-quest
Hi, I'm a Scottish screenwriter. Seven years in the industry. Website nickbain.co.uk , agent: Zero gravity. I've worked on adaptation and children's animations before and would love to know more. Best, Nick
Hi Nick, This is working with top US editors - so if you have not done that before it is great experience. We also like humour. We have the book formatted to final draft with the darker parts taken out. I will put you on the list.
Sounds good. I got US representation in 2011 and have been through the process with a couple of scripts now. I'm big into craft and humour. Look forward to hearing from you.
Just for info (although you may already be aware), Scottish Screen no longer exists. Creative Scotland is the new national development agency for the arts, screen and creative industries. - www.creativescotland.com
Thanks. The package is being put together in locally Scotland. We are hoping to create a new subgenre. There is so much going for it in terms of avenues to explore.
Hi, I am based in Scotland and I wrote the feature film Act of Grace, (Leo Gregory, Jennifer Lim) which was released last year. I also wrote the Scottish Feature Between Weathers, set in the Shetlands, which is in pre production. I contacted you and sent my CV through your posting on Mandy.com a couple of days ago. I also have representation and without trying to discredit anyone who can set up an address here for funding purposes, I have lived and worked in Scotland for 30 years and have written extensively for Scottish drama for the past 16 years. 3 of my shorts (all set in Scotland) premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and Instant Credit, starring Billy Boyd, was selected to be screened at the Newport Beach film Festival in LA. It can be viewed on YouTube. Both my books, Lollipop and Rewire were set in Scotland and I am currently developing Rewire as a comedy feature film also set in the highlands of Scotland. In short, I am known as a Scottish writer. By all means Google me for more information. Ronnie (who I know - hi Ronnie) is right. Creative Scotland profess not to develop feature scripts (we should know, we've tried them often enough) although that might change for all we know in the near future. I looked up the project on your website and am very interested. I hope to hear from you. Best wishes, Marc
Im intrigued, why scottish?

The regional film agencies like to develop talent in their own area,

Hi, Your projects sound very interesting. If you get the chance then please take a look at an example of my work: http://screenplayreaders.com/first-10-pages-ruby-bay-by-t-campbell/ It seems as though we may have something in common... Tony
Have you a CV?
