Pretty simple - I've been a semi-pro actor and occasionally working part-time for years... I'm broke, and I can't get any traction working on my projects and ideas. Local crewpeople want to be paid (fair enough) and I don't want to reveal all my secret ideas on crowdfunding sites that I'm likely to fail to fund with. With my own 1080p camera, I can start a no-budget YouTube show to try to build an audience, and I can shoot decent-looking pitch videos for crowdfunding sites. http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/help-me-make-videos--2/x/3679288 All I need is for a few people to contribute a buck or two. There are some perks, if you have a script or something you'd like to see performed (in a YouTube video, either private or public at your request), or something similar, there are some options.
