About 20 years ago after leaving college to earn money and support our small family, I wondered if I would ever utilize my talents in singing anywhere but in church. A year later a friend dragged me to a community theater production of "Little Shop of Horrors that he was directing, saying that he just needed a few extra singers in the chorus. reluctantly I agreed to stay and take part, I told myself that I would help him out and then would be done. 20 years later, I have been in numerous musicals and plays. I have played the parts of Oliver Warbucks - "Annie", John Utterson - "Jekyll and Hyde the Musical", Father Flynn - "Doubt - A Parable", Albert Peterson - "Bye, Bye Birdie", Frankie - "Forever Plaid", Dennis Shephard - "Laramie Project, and many, many more. All during this time I so wanted to tell some of my own stories and so after Directing a few shows and seeing all sides of the theater process, I began writing some plays. Most were just written outlines to get back to, but one took on a life of it's own. "Voices" was written over the course of a couple of weeks, and after a few editing sessions, I submitted it to a One Act Play Festival, when to my surprise, it took 5 out of 6 awards, including Peoples Choice Best Play, and Critics Choice Best Play. Since that time, I have been writing and learning more and more, including writing 5 short screen plays and I am now working on my first feature length screenplay that I have had bouncing around in my head for over a year. I am very grateful to have stumbled onto this site, and hope that I can make connections here that will allow me to help others where I can, setup winning relationships with other industry pros, and allow me to hear about all of your success stories to help keep me motivated. Thank you all for the warm welcome so far! I hope to connect with many of you. Kris
