Kris: Thank you for the network invite. I suggest you join a screenwriting group in order to get feedback on your script before you go ahead with filming it. When it's finished, register it with the US Copyright Office and then you'll feel safe. I've written three scripts set in Michigan with plans to film them myself. It's tough, however, without funding to get anything done. Crew and actors drop out and you're left with several days of shooting and an incomplete film. Right now I'm pitching two of these scripts to Hollywood.
