Ben Kopf - AudioBoard for the iPad

Hi Everyone, I'm Ben Kopf, and my spouse and I founded an iOS software development company called 20Buttons (www.20buttons.com). We've developed a sound board app with the help of many theater/stage/sound professionals looking for an inexpensive iPad-based soundboard creation app (one that does more than fart noises :-) . AudioBoard (www.audioboardapp.com) gives you a portable soundboard tool that can be used in dozens of disciplines, including stage/theater professionals and event producers. Creating a soundboard is as easy as pointing to a Dropbox folder with audio files or an iPod playlist and the app does the rest - a twenty button sound board is created for every 20 sound files imported. We are still sending out betas if anyone is interested, and the app is scheduled to release in October (before Halloween for obvious reasons). Our goal is to collect as many use cases as we can from everyone who is interested, so we can better serve people in your industry. I'm not posting this as an ad for the app, we genuinely need feedback! Anyone that's curious please write us at contact@20buttons.com. Thanks! Ben

Course it's not an ad ;) ;)

Ben Kopf

Alrightttt, agreed Dustin, it has "ad-like" tendencies :) But seriously, I'm hoping sound professionals get the word because we are trying to build the essential app for soundboard creation and playback. I've faced this dilemma before because we genuinely need feeback, but it's always going to sound like self/app promotion (I guess since the app isn't available yet it's "pre-promotion"). And our mom & pop shop needs all the word of mouth chatter we can get! Thanks, Ben

Richard "RB" Botto

Congratulations, Ben. Very cool...

Ben Kopf

Thanks RB! Truly means a lot coming from someone so well established in your industry. We've poured a lot of hours into the app. We listened to the feedback we gathered from AudioBoard's predecessor, SoundSlate (by our former company Spinthought) and are trying to reach out to the people who want to replace existing (expensive) sound playback systems with something simple and affordable. It's damn hard to get noticed in the app store! What is cool is the app has appeal to a lot of disciplines including the performing arts. If you have an iPad and would like a copy, please let me know - it's almost finished and your feedback would be invaluable. Cheers, Ben

Believe me when I tell ya, I know all the pains and delays associated with getting the app listed and approved. Oy! But, now it's done and you're on your way!
