Hello everyone, my name is Bridgette, 19 years old and I'm from California. I'm very new to the whole world of acting, but I am determined to become an actor. I've done a couple of small auditions here and there, but I am looking for something bigger. Working on a television show or even movies is a dream. I'm very new to stage 32 and I'm looking forward to connecting with other aspiring actors/directors/producers. And hopefully catching my big break somewhere along the way. I love advice/criticism and anything that will help me improve my skills and bring me closer to where I hope to end up. I'm looking forward to the opportunities and relationships ahead :).

I recommend the book 'ACTING Techniques' by Michael Powell. ISBN 978 1 408 127346. A spiral bound Bible that says it like it is and gets you through the mine field when you start out. I've been in the biz years and I still love this book. A solid foundation from which to build a lasting career.

Welcome, Bridgette! There are a plethora of resources out there to help you to hone your craft in the form of workshops, webinars, books, etc. I have an affinity for the teachings of Constantin Stanislavsky and would therefore recommend his trilogy of books, "An Actor Prepares", "Building a Character", and "Creating a Role". Uta Hagen's "A Challenge for the Actor" is also one of the most practical books ever written for actors and I still use it to this day as my "bible", especially when I perform in theatre. If you're on Facebook, you can check out and "like" my new actor page where I share some images from past projects and other insights on acting. Hope these resources help. Take care.

Ethan, I'll be taking a look too. You just never know where your next piece of insightful information might come from. It's good to keep reading, exploring, practicing. Even going over old ground said in a new way can be revolutionary. Nice one.
