In fact, I just finished a written query to a producer, and in it, I used one of the tidbits offered by Stephanie in this very post. It was just there... like a pitch plum for the picking.
Oh, it was the one about making a statement that your "other work life" contributes to the project being pitched by adding the following expertise, wisdom.
Absolutely! If you can show that you're a subject matter expert - and you bring that specific, real world savvy to your writing - they will feel in competent hands! Good for you! ;-) That's how Grisham did it! ;-)
