Hi! So I've been in Los Angeles for just over a year now, transplanted from a tiny little city on the WA/OR border (Longview, as in the very city that Green Day named their song "Longview" after - you know, the one about being bored and getting high and jerking off...yeah...). I fell in love with LA when I came down for my journalism gigs, and knew that I had to move here when I was on my way home from the Emmys two years ago and had to pull my car over in Santa Clarita so I wouldn't vomit. The thought of leaving to return to my boring little life in my boring little city upset me so badly that it literally made me sick! Not wanting to go home that badly is never a good thing... Always a fan of film and television, and an avid writer since the fourth grade, I set a goal for myself to move down here and make my stories come alive on screen the way I envision them. So here I am! Goal One: Move to LA = achieved! Goal Two: Make a Production = is in the works. Since I got here I've been paid to do some storyboard work for a few commercial pitches, I've been working as story consultant, wardrobe, and prop design for a starter company that predominantly does music videos, and I'm a partner in another starter production company that will be focusing on mostly the supernatural genre. For that I'm a head writer, casting director, camera operator, wardrobe, prop designer, location scout, production assistant, researcher, and director, depending on the day and whose script we're working on (we sort of share responsibilities evenly depending on our strong points and whose story we're telling for shoot that day). I'm also starting to do my own projects on the side that I plan on featuring in web series format. Aside from all that, I just got done hosting a fan convention for The Magnificent Seven at the Los Angeles Convention Center in August. It went spectacularly well for a first year con, and I plan on doing it yearly with hopes that it'll grow to be a large and well-know Old West con for anyone interested in the time period. I'm also a Steampunk hobbyist, anime fan, comic book geek, tabletop role player, and all around general nerd who also happens to love all the outdoor activities like camping and hiking and white water rafting, etc, etc, that many book worm types don't typically enjoy. This is what happens when a little girl has her mother's smarts but was raised by a Navy SEAL dad who's first three kids were all girls, lol. I was a good little tomboy growing up. ;) I also have been working at dog boarding facilities as reception, dog handler, trainer, and general bather for over thirteen years of my life, worked at an aquarium and a zoo growing up, I belly dance, practice English style horseback riding, like boxing, can shoot a long range rifle like it's nobody's business, love Greek mythology and Edgar Allen Poe, go on actual ghost hunting excursions, and I always, always, have a plan to survive the eventual Zombiepocalypse. My hero is Thomas Edison. Annnnnd, I think that's about it, lol. I love meeting new people and making new friends, so feel free to chatter at me online or meet up with me in person if you're in LA. Anyone with questions, feel free to ask. I consider myself to be an open book. :)
