Hey guys. I'm in the process of launching my own company and I have an idea to create a 10 to 15 second company intro for my website and all video's we do in the future. I need advice on what program I can best use to do this or how much money something like this would set me back. I will be posting up a promo video I am editing for my companies first project which goes into full production in October. I have no budget at the moment so I'm looking for as much free advice and help as possible. Thanks. So the registered company name is 5 Phase Entertainment. The idea is this. A helicopter flies across a mountain range. (Detail of helicopter unimportant and could simply be a silhouette) It's carrying a massive metallic number 5 via a thick chain dangling below the helicopter. Suddenly the chain snaps and the number 5 plummets into the mountains and slams into the rock spewing up dust. as the dust settles shattered rocks around the giant 5 make the word PHASE and then in white Entertainment appears at the bottom. 5 Phase Entertainment. All this in 10 to 15 seconds. Ant advice?

There is no program that will automagically make stuff like this for you. You are dreaming. You can learn to animate and with a combination of photoshop and after effects you can make great stuff. However it will take a smart student with a feel for it several months to a year at minimum to do what you want. Satisfactory results will really only come from hiring an animator for $800-2000.
No shit Cory. I don't think I was asking for a "poof" type magical program but rather some solid advice and help minus the sarcasm. I have though managed to get someone who offered to help for pretty much the same rates you suggested. A little out of my budget, but where there is a will and a "dream" things can happen. I offered no sarcasm. You read that into my words. You asked for what program you can use to create an intro yourself. The question communicates a lack of understanding that it is not the programs but a person's ability that is needed. I can create something like what you suggested in a variety of programs, however I suggested two that would be the easiest to use. Apparently this does not apply to you, but there are many people who ask similar questions who really believe a program makes things automatically look cool without artistic or technical skill. If it needs to look live action, doing it in 3D is a good option, but the most expensive and complex. I suggest hiring an after effects artist who can do it in fake 3D, or stylize it in a cartoon or silhouette look.
