Hi Benny, Robert Seay here,... Look, there are a lot of distribution sources available once your film is ready to go. Some companies may want to have an exclusive distribution deal on your film but try to stay away from that unless they can offer you something extra for the exclusivity of your project. personally, if it is possible for you to be everywhere at once through multiple distributors, that would be better for you. Let me give you a sample idea ok? Go to amazon's (video on demand) also go to (Netflix). From there start generating other sites of distribution by simply searching the internet under (independent film distribution sources.) there will be a lot of sources just pop up under your search. Just go from there ok? Good luck friend, stay in touch and let me know how you're doing... Regards, Robert Seay...
Thanks Robert for your comment I will take your advice. I plan to go to AFM first to find any distributor that interesting to buy my movie. Please send me more info. regarding marketing or finding distribution for my action film. Your opinion highly respected. Thank you very much and I wish you the best. Cheers. Benny Tjandra

Hi Ben. I can help here with every distribution outlet EXCEPT theatrical. I am a Producer. If your movie is good enough, I will submit it to all outlets to get picked up. Send me a trailer first. FamilyFilmsProd@gmail.com. The one thing you should be aware of is having a marketing budget. This means that if it get picked up by all VOD and major retail outlets, you should have some money budgeted to let people know. Best - Carmine
Hi Carmine thank you for your reply this is my first feature film that I directed and Produced completely. I finance the movie with my friend from England. I don't have really marketing budget because I make this movie as it goes with the money I have. So please give me advice what is the minimal cost or what is the cost that I need for the marketing budget. I don't have official trailer yet but you can go see my trailer teaser on my stage 32 file. My movie still in post production at special effect stages now and color corrected with color grading after. I'm negotiating the contract with composer and sound editor for the sound of the movie. Please respond and your opinion highly respected. Best Regards, Benny Tjandra

It can be anything these days with social media advertising so cheap. It's like asking how much does a wedding cost? Can be what u want. I have a feeling your question is how much do I need to be successful? That is a question no one knows. Hollywood spent 250 million on avatar and 250 million on the marketing budget. Rule of thumb is for Hollywood to spend 1-3 times the production budget on advertising and marketing

I would tend to disagree with the statement "with social media advertising so cheap," since professional social media campaigns, are neither cheap, nor easy. They require research, time and money to be executed properly. Gini :-)

I'm gonna give my two cents here. Attack the different windows one by one: cable, vod, theatrical, DVD, libraries, you just name it. Make a trailer, have some promo flyers, go to AFM talk to the distributors there. Secure national and international. For the international try to sell to all territories seperatly and always check with kind of window they will take! If you got question don't hesitate. Hope this helps.
And festivals, submit to festivals. also check the target for your movie. Is that the one with the big boobies girls? If that's the case: forget the art house distributors. Go for the fun distributors that distribute stuff like "Versus" and you will be fine.
Thanks Pedro for your advice is highly excepted I will take your advice regarding distribution fro my movie. My movie is an action movie with girl with big boobs so I don't think will suited for festival if you know any distribution that except my kind of my movie please let me know. If you have more advice please let me know. Thank you again and I wish you the best. Cheers, Benny

you're going to the AFM right? So you should have access to cinando. Check their database for festivals and buyers present at the AFM. That should be a big start already!
O I will check it out thanks.

I disagree. Social marketing is cheap and more effective than traditional marketing. Now instead if paying for impressions, your paying only when someone engages with your add, AND it's your target audience. So if I made a movie about stage32, I can marketing specifically to each one of you and only pay when u engage with my ad. Also there are so many more outlets to advertise on, creating competition, driving down advertising prices. 10,000 in 2013 can get you to your audience and create way more sales than 10 years ago. 15 years ago if you made a film, if it didn't get picked up at a festival , you couldn't even think of an effective marketing campaign for 10k. You can spend 300 a month on marketing your movie these days. That is cheap. That is social media. I did it for my movie and its doing great. Check out this video on advertising in 2013: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=h00FfTcfvm4.
Hi Benny, Kaleigh Group Entertainment is now accepting films for distribution. We have traditional and Out of the Box distribution channels. We get paid commission, so there are NO up front fees. I would like to discuss this with you. Contact me if you are interested.
