Hi... I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm a playwright. I have lots of short scripts that might make fun short films, as well as six full-length plays. I live in Western New York and am an ensemble playwright at Road Less Traveled Productions, where we're currently running a series of short plays about Buffalo, one of which is mine. Anyway, looking to meet other playwrights, directors, and short filmmakers... not good at talking about myself!

I know. It seems like a lot of screenwriters... Are you a Dramatists Guild member?
Not at all. I've tried to get published MANY times. So I ended up self-publishing. Been lucky enough to stage 2 of my plays a couple of times.

you might want to look up script formatting and switch them over though watch the amount of speech people talk a lot less on film than on stage
Hi Tabitha -- I don't write super talky pieces; I think most could be adapted pretty easily, just a question of me learning a new format.
Pamela-Michelle: I send then out constantly and get quite a few produced around the world, though not so many of the places pay too well...
go for it. I do stage screen and novel format and your right it takes practice. I have one work that started as a book, I adapted it to film and on a dare put it on stage. Flexible story that one.
Bobby, do you write any music for spammers? Like music someone could spam to?

This is absolutely correct, Bobby. Although I am sure it was done innocently, posting static messages for self promotion (and have nothing to do with the subject of the thread) is against our Spam Policy. I suggest reading our HELP section to learn the proper way to promote who you are and what talents you bring to the community. But also to familiarize yourself with all the features and resources Stage 32 has to offer. Remember, be a giver first and a taker second!
