To save people the bother of checking me out I am a British Independent novelist and I joined Stage 32 in the hope of finding some British blue sky thinkers but have to say that while I find a lot of the discussions and thoughts interesting they are mainly irrelevant to those outside the US industry. Being British I write stories about Britain and the British and while my books have a following in other English speaking countries I cannot see any TV or Film maker outside Great Britain being interested in them. As a contributor to other on-line social sites I have often discussed popular British TV crime programmes such as Sherlock Holmes (the real one not the Hollywood knock offs), Agatha Christie's Miss Marple and Poroit , Morse, and many, many more. What I find amazing is the International popularity and genuine following these TV series have especially in the USA and Canada. Seeing this what I don't understand is why there is not more interest in finding and developing this seeming insatiable appetite for British Crime Drama.
I watch or watched. From Netflix, cannot recall the titles of the series. Your version of our Criminal Minds and Law and Order wrapped. I do watch a few others, too. You must realize though that most Americans stay mainstream. So for that reason many movies, sitcoms are the same. Maybe if you channel your energy to finding a sphere of influence in your area? The only thing I do not care for is the accents across the pond. Like trying to understand a celtic or irish talk fast to you. Check out Netflix as mentioned you will find a slew of Brit fliks on there.
