Hard to believe there were still 300 open.

I know what you mean, it never occurred to me that it was still around.

It is really sad, but I'm also excited by the new opportunities it brings.

Well I always think of it like Kodak. In 1970 they were the biggest company in the world, but then they didn't think people would want digital cameras or didn't think about the opportunity digital cameras give the consumer. Blockbuster was much the same.

Just read that the last film rented at Blockbuster was This is the End. Fitting, no?

Very fitting. :) It's like when my favorite radio station went all talk, the last song they played was "The Day the Music Died".

Uh, duh! The sad thing is, if the old boy management that obviously never heard of The Internet was on the ball, they could have saved the business and made it better than Netflix.

It's crazy that Blockbuster watched an entire movie watching data base walk straight out the door.
