Introduce Yourself : Introducing Myself by Dawn Alden

Hello! I'm a classically-trained stage actress, founder of a theatre company, fight director and stunt fighter, and feminist activist. All this comes together in a passion to make art to promote social change, specifically to address gender discrimination and to improve the lives of women world-wide. I spent many years on the stages of Chicago, where I founded the (still producing!) theatre company Babes With Blades (www.babeswithblades.org) and acted in many all-female Shakespeare productions. Now I am living in LA, and trying to find and build communities of like-minded women in all aspects of film that are interested in creating works that feature 3-dimension female characters who have agency, and are central to the action. I must admit, LA is a challenging town to live and work as a feminist. If you are interested in creating similar work as I am, please feel free to reach out and let's connect.
