That depends on the cause of the block, I think. I had writer's block years ago when I was suffering from burn out too. I had to read a lot and start up my journal again and even then it was months before it when away. But that was a severe case. If you are just tired from the day's work, let it rest for a few days and then come back to it and see what happens. That said, don't be afraid to let the story go where it wants to. It may not be where you want it to go but that's okay. You can always cut later. I often go down rat holes as I explore a scene, then come back and set the direction I want.
