Haven't looked at it yet, but it doesn't ship until the end of the month. Suspect, being a "first out" in the category it will be overpriced, although all Canon lenses are costly, it uses standard lenses, so if you're into Canon, you already have a few to pick from. Always liked 35 mm "effect" of bringing what you want your audience to see into focus, putting everything else out of focus...there's something missing when aall you see is a "flat" picture, with no emphasis on what you are shooting. But I think a lot of the cameras with adapters can suit the bill.
The other thought I had was we're kind of at a "crossover" time, shooting stills with movie cameras, and movies with still cameras...I need to upgrade a few things, but want to wait a bit to see where it's all going.
So are the review sites I've seen talking about it. If you want to spend $20k on a camera that you can get the same quality for at the $8k level, I'm sure they will love to have your money. One site that had a review mentioned $20k for the camera and another $45k for the lens. Or you could just buy a RED camera.
I'm a Canon freak...I also like the idea of being able to get that true 35 mm effect...experiment with all those lenses.....HD has always bothered me, everything seems flat...
Hmmm... Overpriced? Add a lens, mortgage the house.

I'm talking quality rather than price. :)

RED workflows not that bad..I've dealt with a lot of it..I shot my last film with the RED One
I'm not look to buy it, but hire it to shoot my festival film with this year.
