SimplyScripts feedback constructive or insulting?

How reliable are the feedbacks on simplyscripts? I've posted several shorts on there and took notes on the feedback. While some are very good at giving decent constructive criticism, others darn near try to butcher your screenplay. One guy criticized my screenplay so bad, I couldn't tell if he were being hurtful or helpful. I know I shouldn't take all criticisms to heart, but I also think that if you're going to give feedback to someone you should take into account that the writer care about the work they created and isn't looking for someone to tell them how horrible they are at writing but how they could possibly learn from their mistake and make sure it doesn't happen again. Also, do anyone's screenplay get higher than 3 stars?

I've never had a bad experience with SimplyScripts but I never had a good one either. I say that to mean, they all are similar when it comes to feedback. The best feedback I receive is from BLUECAT Screenplay Competition. For some reason they have a pool of writers and critics that do a very good job of helping you make your script better. However, no matter what, it'll always be up to the reader's best judgment. SimplyScripts' feedback seems more like opinions versust a critique for development in my opinion.

Nikki - Remember that coverage is SUBJECTIVE. Also, you don't really know the level of competency of those giving feedback. A good reader, should be able to suggest ways to fix script problems. NEVER take it personally.

If it's not constructive criticism, it rarely helps

I've not used SimplyScripts but I've seen some pretty mean spirited reviews on all script review sites. You should always care about the writers feelings when giving feedback. A lot of people use the harsh feedback rule as a caveat but, in my opinion, the professional way to give feedback is to be considered, positive and tactful.

One script site that gives me honest feedback on my script is Michael Elliot Media with their script consulting. They are offer fair amount of praise and criticism. They encourage you to improve your script and do better, not to discourage you at all. It's $175 for coverage and $595 for the full package.

But, I also posted my script on Simply Scripts. I mostly got constructive feedback on my script with a few mean ones here and there.
